1. Add a drop (~20 ml) of the mounting medium to the slide.
2. Cover with cover slip.
3. (optional) Seal with nail polish.
4. Store at room temperature or -20 °C.

50% gum acacia (arabic), 50% sucrose, 10% CaCl2, 0.1% thymol. Dissolve by warming and stirring. Store at room temperature. |

Fructose |
15 g fructose, 5 ml water, dissolve at 60 C for 1-2 days. Store at room temperature. |

Canada Balsam |
Dissolve Canada balsam resin in xylene or benzene. |

DPX |
Distrene-80* (polystyrene) 10 g, Dibutylphthalate 5 ml, xylene 35 ml. Dissolve for several days. Store in dark bottle. |
*Distrene-80 is a trademark name of a polystyrene. DPX
from different vendors may differ in the polystyrene used.
