1. Place a drop of water on the slide.

2. Place small pieces of specimen in the water drop.

3. If liquid specimen, place a drop of the sample directly on the slide.

4. Cover it with a cover slip. The water should just fill the space between the slide and cover slip.

5. A wet mount slide may last 10-30 minutes before drying up.

6. Observe under a microscope.
